It is so wonderful to finally be on the other side of the pregnancy, holding our beautiful baby boy and thanking God for a safe and quick delivery. After 18 months of intense conditions in Zambia between a drought-induced heat wave and helping feed villagers during this food shortage crisis, our time in South Africa has been a welcome reprieve. The Lord provided a beautiful cottage for us to rent at an affordable price and the cooler climate is so refreshing. It feels strange to be able to drive 10 minutes up the road to pick up groceries we need since we are used to stocking up on food for the month! Since there aren’t many exciting things to do in Zambia for kids, it’s been wonderful watching our children enjoy the playgrounds, arcade, and going to see movies in a theater.

Jesse’s mother arrived here on the night of September 1st, and soon after on the night of September 3rd it was time to go to the birth center! The midwife warned us that all of the big, beautiful rooms were full and I would have to deliver in the delivery room then be transferred to a small room later. I felt like we were Joseph and Mary searching for a place to stay and there was no room in the inn!
